Arkema is expanding its portfolio to include lower-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants, such as R-454B, under its Forane brand through a commercial agreement with Honeywell International Inc. This move aims to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly refrigerants in the HVACR industry, aligning with regulations like the HFC phasedown. R-454B, with a GWP of 466, is a comparable alternative to R-410A and is favored by major equipment manufacturers for its energy efficiency in comfort-cooling applications. The expansion strengthens global supply chains and supports sustainable HVACR solutions.
