In an interview with ACHR News, Randy Roberts, Vice President of Residential Business Development at Rheem’s AC Division, discussed key HVAC industry trends and insights from Rheem’s largest Pro Partner International Conference held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The conference, themed “Next Starts Now,” brought together elite dealers and, for the first time, plumbers, reflecting contractors’ growing interest in whole-home solutions. Roberts highlighted the success of Rheem’s fifth-generation heat pump water heaters, which are easy to install and increasingly displacing electric water heaters due to regulations and utility incentives aimed at reducing grid load. On the HVAC side, he noted that heat pumps are gaining traction, supported by technological advancements and regulatory incentives, though their adoption may still rely on such incentives. Roberts also addressed broader industry dynamics, comparing HVAC technology trends to the automotive industry’s innovation trajectory.
